Choose Chemical Free Spring Cleaning
Step 1:
Identify cleaning products that are free of chemicals by checking the ingredient list. Chemical-free products do not have chlorine, phosphates, acetone, ammonia or petroleum listed as an ingredient.

Step 2:
Create your own chemical-free cleaner by mixing one cup of white vinegar with one cup of water and placing the solution in a spray bottle. This cleaner can be used for general purposes.

Step 3:
Create a drain cleaner or toilet bowl cleaner by mixing a half cup vinegar with a quarter cup baking soda and pouring the mixture down the drain or in the toilet. Using this on a regular basis will keep the drain pipes clear and the toilet sparkling clean.

Step 4:
Create a furniture polish by mixing a half cup of lemon juice with one cup of olive oil. Mix well and dispense onto a soft rag to clean furniture.

Step 5:
Consider a microfiber cloth for cleaning. Moisten the cloth with water and scrub away grime without chemicals.

Step 6:
Choose cleaning products from companies with a reputation for chemical-free cleaning. Seventh Generation is an example of such a company, and its products are being sold in more and more mainstream grocery stores.
